Our Services
Nowadays, Mexican pharmacies do much more than merely distribute medications. An example of a common offering is:
- In‑store medical clinics. Many chains have affiliated doctor’s offices. For example, Benavides operates “Benamedic” clinics, with hundreds of in-store medical offices and laboratories for basic tests and vaccinations;
- Health screenings and vaccinations. It is not uncommon for pharmacy branches to provide immunizations and health screenings (blood pressure, glucose). Some even have flu injections and travel vaccines available on the spot;
- Home delivery. Chains like Farmacias del Ahorro advertise free home delivery of medications and products. Customers can order online and have drugs brought to their door;
- Bill payment and billboards. At the drugstore register, consumers may pay for utilities, insurance, or phone top-ups. For instance, Ahorro branches accept payments for public utility bills;
- Loyalty programs and promotions. Frequent-buyer programs are common. Many pharmacies run weekly discounts, coupons, or special promotions on health products;
- Retail goods. In addition to pharmaceuticals, businesses provide a variety of personal care items, basic food items, cosmetics, and even photo services (such as picture printing at Farmacia Guadalajara).
- Extended hours. Many chains keep extended hours (some 24/7), providing access when clinics are closed.
In general, Mexican pharmacies are something of a combination of a pharmacy, health center, and corner store. Usually, it’s a one-stop shop for all things related to health.
